The Neighborhood Center of South Lake
Our Mission: Enriching Neighbors’ Lives and Enhancing Dignity by Providing Food Security and Abundant Resources
Summary
The Neighborhood Center of South Lake (TNC) believes no one should go hungry. Many people know us as only a food pantry. Although it is our largest program, we are more than a food pantry, we are a Family Stability Center, employing a holistic approach to ending hunger through dedicated case management, providing an abundant variety of resources, and securing strong community partnerships. The Neighborhood Center of South Lake was founded in 1972 to address the needs of those suffering from food insecurity. Since our inception, we have grown from serving 1040 people per year to nearly 100,000 per year. We have expanded our services, adding upskill classes for Job Preparation, Financial Literacy, Nutrition, and more. More than 35 active partnerships have been formed with different companies and agencies to create a holistic approach to solving food insecurity and a network of support for families.
We recognize the dignity of every person, acknowledging that asking for help is an act of courage that should always be respected. Each week, we provide families with the necessary resources to become self-sufficient.
We are the Heartbeat of Hope in South Lake County!
